Captain Returns on Big Stage

The demotion of opening batsman Mohammed Shamil to the reserves and the inclusion of skipper Mohammed Dasthakir are among a host of changes in Zahirians's BIG BATTLE - 2012 squad against JET X1 Sports Club on comming friday in Wonderland Park. Zahirians's selectors have dropped four of the 15 players who were part of the last series against North Idians in same venue, demoted two to reserve status, and called up five. They also continued to not pick Anis ul Rahamn and Madhu.

Mohammed Fayas, Mohammed Ziyad, Mohammed Sanaz and Ayyup Padladka, allrounder Mohammed Rikaz and medium-pacer Mohammed Nazeer were dropped from the squad that played Last year with same oppenent. Mohammed Shuhaib and medium-pace allrounder Mohammed Roshan, who were also got  part series after selections.Mohammed Irshad and Malinga the new comming all-rounders also won there places.The selectors did not name vice-captain, but said their names would be "declared shortly". as skipper Dasthakir returns and remains same.

Dubai Zahirians With three wins in their previous four games in 2012, they are undoubtedly favourites, a concept so vital to most sporting contests, but considered taboo in the short format games. They have earned the tag, and not just through the belligerence of Mohammed Siraj. Mohammed Imran and Mohammed Rafeek have been consistent, mohammed Dasthakir has been effective in his unassuming manner, Mohammed Hillal has shown glimpses of his abilities and, perhaps, most importantly they've been relatively safe with their catching in the past tournaments plagued by poor fielding.

The zahirians selectors will also be watching closely. There is a long season ahead and a pool of reserve talent will come in handy.
