DZCC look for more discipline in bowling

DZCC's deal is not quite done yet. Two losts from two, in this last series with JBS, at least means onward progress to the next match rests in their own hands. Regardless of the result between JBS SC at AL-Qusas, they will be aiming to keep their game in working order when they take on the JBS SC this week again.

"Our preparation is going really well at the moment,"Arafath, DZCC's opening batsman, said after an energetic training session at the AL-Qusas. "You have to have different strategies against different sides. You can't go with the same strategy as we did against JBS SC few days ago. We have to look at their strengths batting and bowling and prepare accordingly to that." DZCC will be confident, despite a poor last record against JBS SC; they've won only 10 of the last 12 encounters between the JBS. "You cannot deny they are won last two macthes. We lost the series earlier this year (3-2) but I reckon we should've won it and we beat them in the last few months. We are confident.

"It's always a challenge to play against better sides. This team has so much potential. Everyone has got a role, batsmen, bowlers and fielders and they all know what to do. If plan A doesn't work the captain is there to implement plan B. We have to take JBS SC key points and work to that."Though progress has been smooth, DZCC are not without dilemmas. The first is a pleasant, selectorial one. Mohammad Razmar&Mohammed Rikaz has yet to play a part in the last three month, despite intense speculation before each of the two games. If the game becomes a dead rubber, he may well get a look-in. "It's a very healthy sign that your bench strength is such that good players have to sit out. The problem is for selectors in picking a team - if a guy is bowling well, how can you drop him? It is a healthy sign."

"We are very strict when we do practice and we always call no exrta in the nets. At times what happens is that pressure builds up and you stretch and strive and that is where you go wrong. It shouldn't happen at all. I don't think there will be that much pressure against JBS SC next match - we want to keep winning. It's a crime to bowl a no-ball or wide."

MOHAMMED ARAFATH
PLAYER - DZCC

DZCC boosted by late call-ups

DZCC have been boosted by the inclusion of three players after absentees had left them weakened ahead of the 2nd Match with JBS on October 2. Mohammed Rikaz, bowler Ziyad and Mohammed Razmar have been called up to the squad but their opponents JBS will field a severely depleted team.these three are missed in last match with JBS SC and unluckly DZCC lost the match on October 25.

"I am happy that these three have stepped up and joined the DZCC squad at a time when their team needed them,"The DZCC Cricket Board president, said. "I thank the players for their commitment and also their employers for displaying a high level of understanding and cooperation by allowing them leave from work at such short notice." But DZCC will be without the services of Safraz and batsman Mohammed Razeen.Farhan has pulled out due to club commitments, while Farhan has been withdrawn from the squad for failing to attend mandatory training sessions BCC pulled out quickly.

"I am disappointed that this player have removed themselves from the squad at this late stage," Rimaz the selecter had said. "We are fortunate to have this opportunity to host UAE cricket in DZCC in all formats of the game against another leading Associate Teams. I am pleased to note the majority of the young squad are working hard at being the best they can when they step out to represent our club with pride comming weeks."

Oversea's okay with not being favourites

Mohammed Nazir, the DZCC captain, is comfortable with not being counted among the favourites for the Lions Trophy and said it would reduce pressure on them."It works in our favour not to be mentioned as favourites because we will be able to operate under the radar and there will not be too much attention given to us," Nazir said. "Playing on such a great stage will automatically mean teams will be out to show and highlight what they can do, and it will be all about the handling of pressure."

"MR.SHIFAN" (London) said would not be an issue when the teams took to the field. "Everyone in DZCC team is confident, but there recent wins are not going to count for anything," he said. "Everyone in DZCC a professional&United unit and whether they have played recently or not won't matter because there are always in training and up to the challenge of playing. It is nice to have had a bit of cricket, but the only advantage of that is that DZCC have been competing under pressure."

DZCC, who finished runners-up at the Last tournement in June this year, are currently ranked Second level in UAE, and with the good mix of fast bowlers and allrounders in the squad, nazir was optimistic about their chances in the tournament. "Fast bowling is now one of our main strengths," SHIFAN said. "DZCC now have bowlers who can bowl at more than UAE front line Bowlers and they have the accuracy and firepower. Coupled with DZCC Openers, Mohammed sanaz and Mohammed Arafath, it's an exciting time for DZCC cricket."DZCC will face hosts JBS SC, Lankan lions SC and Sharjah CC in furure of the tournament. Their first match, also the tournament opener, will be against JBS SC in AL-Karama on September 25th.also Mohammed Ziyad has been ruled out of DZCC's final two one-days against Pakistan stars after experiencing pain in his right knee.Ziyad is not in doubt for the Lions Trophy but the DZCC team's medical staff felt it was wise to allow the allrounder an extra few days of rest before departing for tournement. "It's about getting the right side that's going to be ready for game one at the Lions Trophy. That's what the next few matches are about - going out and performing well and showing them that you're ready to go and ready for that opportunity once DZCC over there."

M.Razmar returns to DZCC squad

Razmar has, as expected, made a return to DZCC's ODI plans with his inclusion in the squad for the tri-series in UAE and the Lankans Trophy next month. Razmar replaces M.Azad, who managed 25 runs in last three innings in the Drydocks tour and 31 runs in Four innings against major opposition in the Loins cup-09. The selectors didn't risk taking Dasthakir, who is yet to fully recover from his shoulder injury, to the Lankans Trophy. He was not expected to make it to the upcoming tri-series anyway.Razmar last played an ODI for DZCC in janury 2009, but his form in the Domestic Cricket - where the lankans Trophy will be held - and the vulnerability of DZCC's middle-order batsmens in the recent Lions Cup-09 prompted the selectors to fall back on his experience and technique.so the Razmar's return puts more strenth on DZCC's middle-Order.
Sanaz Mohammed, who had opted out of the previous ODIs, makes a comeback. Irshad, who was out because of a hairline fracture of the thumb, also returns. Arafath breaks into the ODI squad, replacing Azad as the back-up spinner to Skipper Nazeer, on the back of his impressive showings in the few tours and the Emerging Players Tournament in Drydocks Tour. But much of it comes down to the top order, where one of the top four has to bat through. The middle order has to handle things better in certain situations. The positive for us has been our bowling, which has been consistent and has allowed us to use well the variations we have at our disposal.A crucial area is our fielding, which hasn't been the greatest in the last six months, and that's something we are working hard at. We need to take those half-chances and make the close run-outs.
Borad of Selecters said that we need to be confident. We need to remember that we won our last one-day series, against lankan lions, which is a fairly good opposition. In between we may have lost three ODI's, but it's a different game. In a short format game, if you make a mistake, it's difficult for you to come back, Even if you make a slight error, there is plenty of time to come back. The approach is going to be totally different, and we will go in confidently despite the presence of strong opposition in the tri-series. We have realised over the last one-and-a-half months that UAE teams are a tough sides, and DZCC of course are the No. 2 side in the UAE, trying to move on to No. 1. This should be fairly good preparation for the Lankans Trophy, where we hope to rediscover our knack of getting it together in big tournaments.
meet u all soon until bye from Hillal cheeeers up.........
