Rikaz aims to be top scorer

Mohammed Rikaz the Dubai Zahirians Top Order batsman and all-rounder, has announced his intentions of top scoring in every match he plays during the upcomming summer sesson, which included on February 18, the dubai zahirians takes Sharjah Indians in Sharjah next friday.

"I want to score my first century at Sharjah in the next weeks i hope also i can do that," he told the Dubai Zahirians official page. "I will try to be the highest scorer in every match in the upcoming summer." one of Rikaz's two centuries have come at Wonderland, while his only away century was against Shiba Riders in Nad-al-Shiba on 2009.

After a successful first half of 2010, in which he scored an half century against JBS in WLP again. Zahirians had a team practice in WLP on thursday, and Rikaz said he was putting in long hours in the nets. "All of us are enjoying the sessions and the environment is also good. Now I am mentally relaxed and am practicing batting for a long time in the nets," Rikaz said. "You will have good or bad days but we are all prepared to give our best. If we all do well, the team will gain from the game."

"As Dubai zahirians will play the first match in Sharjah in the running year of 2011 with Sharjah Indians, we are trying to develop our performance," Rikaz said. "I hope we will achieve the right result for the club." Rikaz started his career as an opener, but has shifted down to the No. 3 spot in recent times. "Last one year I am playing at No. 3 and feeling comfortable in this position," he said. "I think those who are openers can suit themselves to any position." Rikaz averages just 16.72 in short format games he has played in as an opener, while at No. 3 his average is 31.57.
