Shamil, Shuhaib and Roshan are in Team

Mohammed Shuhaib, the Akurana youth all rounder currently among the runs, has been picked for Dubai zahirians Boxing Day short format team to face India XI and will be joined in the top three by Mohammed Shamil provided the former dubai zahirian can prove his fitness.

Mohammed Roshan has also earned a recall, the selectors seeking an experienced head to help a young bowling attack battle India's XI batsmen at the WLP on coming Friday.Shamil and Shuhaib replaced Mohammed rikaz and mohammed ziyad from the XI that was beaten by jet 11 in nad-al-Shiba, with mohammed Shanaz and mohammed Fayaz unable to be chosen due to continued fitness complaints.sanaz aggravated a calf problem on day one of the team's batting camp in jumeirah.

mohammed Farman, the DZCB selector, said mohammed shamil would open the batting, with Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Izzath to vie for one spot and Ayyub Padladka and Mohammed dasthakir the skipper other."Izzath has been in wonderful form, and the intention is that he will open the batting with mohammed Siraj," Inverarity said. "Of the XI that will line up on December 23, it will either be Hillal or Roshan."It is likely if Shamil plays that he'll be batting at No. 3, if Hillal plays then he'd be at No. 6 and the batting line-up would be re-arranged accordingly, and then it would seem likely that one of Mohammed Rimaz and mohammed Shadeek would be 12th man. That's the anticipated balance of the side but we'll have to wait on weather and pitch conditions and final form and fitness."

"Izzath has been in excellent form in recent weeks. His inclusion is in recognition of his consistently good performances and we anticipate that he can provide steadiness at the top of the order. Mohammed Hillal has regained form this season and he provides a strong and reliable bowling option.

UAE tracks are likely to favour batsmen in winter

The first 12 overs between India's XI CC and Dubai Zahirians CC will be played "on a good pitch  in WLP that will two days," Vijay Sharma, the WLP's groundsman, told DZCC official page. With the series level at last year with same team, beginning on December 23rd, will be the decider in the one-match series.

Dubai's traditionally boasts a flat wickets that is batsman-friendly. It has the highest average score, 137.6 in 10 overs short format games, for any ground in the country that has hosted more than one series. That's close to 24 runs greater than the average score at next-highest run-scoring ground in Abu Dhabi and Market ground in Sharjah. sharma said the trend is set to continue. "The pitch won't change too much from previous year." It will come as welcome news to the batsmen from both camps, who have had a tough time adjusting to the conditions in the previous game between these two teams.

Both the wonderland park and Jumeirah tracks were lively surfaces that favoured the bowlers initially. The track at Jafliya flattened as the sun came out and became excellent for batting. The surface at Nad al shiba also became better for batting as the match wore on but there was something in it for the bowlers throughout. The conditions in Dubai will be vastly different in Winter more then Summer.

"I would love to get the same bounce as grounds like Zabeel Park and the Dhaid," Ziyad the zahirians fast bowler said. "The type of bounce we get is different; it's more of a tennis-ball bounce." Flint said his ground offered more of a traditional Srilankan wicket that was good for batting, particularly on days two and three and turned in favour of the pace bowlers.

Sharma recognised that WLP generally "want to get pace and bounce" out of their pitches at home and said he was aware of the home team's desire to exploit their own conditions. "I would like to create a surface that Zahirians can get a good result on, but I've just got to do the best I can, and hopefully Dubai Zahirians can play to their strengths."

Izzath replaces Imtiyas for Madrasi tour in WLP

Mohammed Izzath, the river bank SC fast bowler, has been named as Mohammed Imtiyas's replacement in Madrasi tour squad for their tour of WLP 2011. Mohammed Rikaz, the DZCC allrounder, has been picked for the short format against Madras club, marking his return to the domestic setup after more than seven months.

After razeen was ruled out of the tour with a immidiate leave starts yesterday, the selectors had to add another seamer to the 12-man squad for WLP and the place was expected to go to either one of  Izzath, Ayyub Padladka or Mohammed farhan the new commer. Izzath got that spot, but a place in the short format squad was vacated because  is departing of Razeen and imtiyas. Fayas's performances in the ongoing domestic season have been rewarded with that spot for the final selections.

Izzath has got chance as debut, but drew attention because of his performance in this season's GPL Trophy, in which he is the leading wicket-taker in the Dole division, having taken 13 wickets in three games. Izzath joins Mohammed rikaz, Mohammed Ziyad and Mohammed Hillal in DZCC's pace department for the tour, with Mohammed Rimaz selected provisionally, subject to him proving his fitness before the squad's departure. Seven of the players from the squad - Mohammed Siraj, Sanaz mohammed, mohammed Saflin, Mohammed Fayaz, Mohammed Dasthakir and Mohammed nazeer are added on batting and all rounding hands, on December 8, to prepare for the series. The first game is that starts on December 09, while second one following week.

High hopes for Zahirians's back

Winter here in dubai finished rush summer 2011.......
Zahirians have targeted a place at the Jumeirah Series in Jumeirah-Dubai next month, and batsman Mohammad Imtiyas former queenslander believes the blooding of new talent during Srilanka's domestic GPL-2011 tournament stands the team in good stead.

"We are preparing for the Jumerah series next month and for a series of matches in the United Arab Emirates, so it was very good to come here and play," said Imtiyas, who was stand-in captain at the GPL-2011, with Regular captain Mohammed Dasthakir and by the way several senior players having missed the trip in order to prepare for next month's matches in the dubai.including Razeen, Arafath and Rasmi.

"We brought some youngsters here while the seniors were in the UAE, so we have a good back-up and youngsters get the chance to learn something, and I am happy that they learnt a lot," said Ayyub Padladka.

Skipper added that he hoped new team would continue the progress set in motion by former players. "We learnt a lot from them last few years and now we have former plenty of senior players well, so we hope they carries on the good work," said Rikaz.

In order for Dubai Zahirians to make a second appearance at the Jumeirah Series in Dubai next November, they will have to finish in the top two in the last year, scheduled in the dubai from November 13-24, 2011.

Siraj aims to prove himself

Mohammed Siraj the dubai zahirians wicket keeping batsman, is back in the squad after injuries ruled Mohammed Sanaz and Mohammed Ramzan out of the team card of the upcomming tours, and is hoping that this latest opportunity will give him the chance to establish himself in the squad."It feels good to be picked again," the 26-year-old Siraj told the Zahirians official page after a practice stint on Saturday. "I did expect to go to Nad-Al-Shiba but ... I am hoping to get a chance and prove myself again soon, like I did on my last tour in Jumeirah."

he was lucky to have received good advice from a number of people who told him to concentrate on playing for the love of the game rather than obsess over not playing for Zahira College. In particular, he gave credit to Sanaz, the DZCC opening batsman and former skipper over the past two seasons, according to the page,"Initially I felt sad and at the net sessions that followed I did lose some concentration, focus and so on. Fortunately for me, a lot of people spoke to me and advised me well. Everyone encouraged me, told me I am a good batsman.

"But the best advice I got was when I was told that when I started playing cricket I did so as I loved the game. At that point I wasn't thinking of playing for Zahira and so why think about it now, I was asked. That set me thinking and slowly I regained my confidence and got back to normal.""That was something I found it tough to deal with initially but slowly got used to that as well and started to enjoy my batting once again."

Manoj carries Ceylon Hero's Victory

In Jamaica the term criss is used to suggest everything is all right. For with Manoj, they criss.unbeaten 50* Dubai Zahirians struggled to replicate Manoj's impact except with the new ball when they got off to a flying start, in 139 chase in 12 overs.hillal came on then to stifle the openers with a seven-run over with a wicket. The pressure resulted in defend a small target, everything was manoj again.

Despite the early wickets, mohammed Rasmi, through cricketing shots and some improvisation, kept DZCC's hopes behind interested with 2 off 3 balls, but returnee for ceylon heros produced one sharp out swing to leg stump across Rasmi to get him clean bowled. Mohammed Faris and Mohammed Dasthakir , outlandish stunts, Mohammed Imran would have been proud.scored few runs end of the crul dubai zahirians first innings.middle order colleps, senior players drop every thing have cost dubai zahirians on there lost.DZCC's top order came out trying too hard for a big start, losing four wickets for 38, and Mohammed Imran's 30 was not recovery enough on a good Wonderland track with short boundaries. A blazing start from Manoj and support from Indika seemed to have put to rest Ceylon Hero's habit of muddled chases.

The new replacements are dosen't work good for dubai zahirians, mohammed ramzan made only 11 then follw by hillal 13 and ziyad for 16.all made in the end of 12 overs just 139/8.

Big Picture
Leaving Razmar,Rikaz,Siraj,Razeen and Sanaz,Mohammed Sadeek has said "that he was expecting his selection for the next game against Ceylon Heros after five months in the wilderness". mohammed sadeek was disappointed after losing his possition last season but that inspired him to regroup and reset his targets.Mohammed Ramzan the new commer, former Queensland skipper in srilanka got two month contract and selected top of the card.Mohammed Dasthakir said "that am really happy to see Mohammed Ramzan in selection card because such a telented young all-rounder defenatly going to boost the line-up"

in other hand Mohammed Fayaz said ""I was expecting it [the selection call] to be honest. I have been really playing well in recent times for Sharjah SC and there was news floating around that I would be selected," fayaz said. "Since I was out for three months in short format games, it really feels good to be back."

in more, Mohammed Fayaz had a stellar domestic season and that form continued into this year's Sharjah tournement. He said he never had any doubt that he would be unable to make a comeback to the Zahirians team. "There wasn't one day I thought I will never get back. I just had that fire in me. I have been always striving to be a better player and concentrated on the process. Sharjah tour was a huge help; you learn from big cricketers who constantly strive to keep improving. Once you do that, you are going to get just better."

Dubai Zahirians With five wins in their previous seven games, they are undoubtedly favourites, a concept so vital to most sporting contests, but considered taboo in the short format games. They have earned the tag, and not just through the belligerence of Mohammed Rasmi. Mohammed Imran and Mohammed Ziyad have been consistent, mohammed Dasthakir has been effective in his unassuming manner, Mohammed Hillal has shown glimpses of his abilities and, perhaps, most importantly they've been relatively safe with their catching in the past tournaments plagued by poor fielding.

Nazeer and Razmar awaits Zahirias recall

Former dubai zahirians captain and all-rounder Mohammed Nazeer and all-rounder Mohammed Razmar are hopeful that there strong showing on the domestic hotel circuit will earn them a recall to the dubai zahirians side, also Zahirians waitting for replaces for mohammed siraj and mohammed razeen's place due to there vacation.

"I have been working hard over the last couple of months," Nazeer told the DZCC official page. "The selectors said that I haven't been getting runs but so far I scored runs in the middle and few wickets too I am just waiting for a call."

Nazeer was the third-highest run scorer for Hotels in the Dubai Regional four-day competition, making 460 runs, at an average of 41.81 with two half century's from eight games. He was also the leading wicket taker for Raffals in the competition with 11 to his name."Any player [who gets dropped] will want to go out there and look to prove himself. I went out there and did it with the bat and ball Razmar said. I tried to score  runs; I fell short by a bit. I think the break was good for me. I came back home and I did a lot of fitness work."

Razmar said he had viewed his batting footage from when he was in form and was working on a few things that had helped him. "I am missing it a bit [playing for the Zahirians], but I am just waiting and using my time wisely and when I get the opportunity, hopefully, I can play for the next one or two years straight."

Dubai Zahirians face tough warm-up

Dubai Zahirians will step up their preparations for the first game after seven weeks against Shiba Risers when they face a strong JBS SC side at WLP. It's a sign of the depth in Zahirians cricket that a formidable second team can be and they should give the visiters a good idea of their readiness for,

Mohammed Rasmi and Mohammed Saflin, along with the other three players who spent an extra week in Srilanka, have arrived to Dubai so the Zahirians are now at full strength. Facing the likes of Mohammed Arafath, Mohammed Rikaz and Ayyub Padladkka, who has made an impressive return to action after a career-threatening back injury's, will be a good test of adjustment for them on a WLP pitch that often offers help to the pace bowlers like Mohammed Hillal and Mohammed Roshan.

Regardless of their form, however, Mohammed Ziyad and mohammed Fayaz will line up in the  side alongside mohammed Dasthakir, Mohammed Sadeek and Mohammed Rimaz. This match will help Mohammed Farman, DZCC's interim coach, and the selectors decide who will be the final specialist batsman - presuming that is the balance they opt for. will be given a chance to press his claim after Mohammed Ziyad did the job in the last match. Ziyad's useful batting could edge the stakes in his favour.

The zahirians selectors will also be watching closely. There is a long season ahead and a pool of reserve talent will come in handy. At least one of will be appearing in Rasmi with a replacement needed for Mohammed Siraj at No. 1, while there is also a batting vacancy due to Mohammed Razeen's Vacation.

Tito and Roshan Ready for Action

Mohammed Roshan and Mohammed Saflin (Tito) both Middle order dubai Zahirians batsman's , has cleared there self to play against frico SC in the two-match limited overs series starting on last week in April 2011in Jafliya, there captain Mohammed Dasthakir has said.

A combination of fitness issues and the poor health with there vacation both players are out of the team for last seven weeks. But dasthakir indicated on the eve of the first match that both are was allowed to make up there own mind about participating in the series, and had chosen to stay."they decided he'll be staying with the team and they'll be part of this series," Dastha told Zahirians official page at the weekly meeting held last night.

As for the series, which forms an odd little postscript to unsuccessful last month campaigns for both sides, mohammed dasthakir refrained from any bold statements. "I don't think it will be easier for them, it will be always a hard game," he said of frico SC. "The two matches we're playing will be very competitive. I'm not putting any number, or whether we'll win any games or not.
