"Dasthakir's had really good domestic form," Anas said. Ziyad fit for Aramex Tour - DZCB

Mohammed Farman, the chairman of DZCC's selection committee, has said Mohammed Ziyad will definitely play in the Aramex Tour 2010 in Jumaira starting friday. He also said he was willing to take the blame for the mess involving the selection of DZCC's middle-order and fast bowling camp but it was the result of a "freakish" incident.

"Ziyad is going to be back in the aramex tour this year," farman told to our official site yesterday. "He has said he is 100% fit. [His] capability will bolster the DZCC bowling." Ziyad was one of the three first-choice Fast bowler who missed the first game of Ajman blacks , which DZCC lost by six runs.

Farman and his panel are under fire for not picking a reserve bowler in the original squad for the first game, defeat in which has left DZCC needing a win at the Eid Gardens to retain their No. 1 ranking. Rimaz, who was part of a Board Control's XI team that played a warm-up match against RSS in al-quses, was included in the domestic squad a day before the first game but he too injured himself minutes before the start, forcing DZCC to hand reserve bowler mohammed Faris a debut as a specialist bowler.

The original pool for the first match had included four fast bowlers, though DZCC rarely pick more than two quicks in home matches. "Generally we have an opener, a middle order batsman, a slower and a seamer in the reserves," Farman said. "But in this Series alone we thought we would encourage two more fast bowlers. But to our bad luck, you had one batsman walking out."

Mohammed Razeen named as captain

Mohammed Razzen , a former DZCC captain, will lead the team again in the WL park against Aramex CC in Dubai on February 5 after Mohammed Dasthakir , the regular DZCC captain, was going emergency leave to Srilanka February 4.

Mohammed Razeen will be the fourth captain to handle DZCC, after Mohammad Ifthikar, Mohammed Nazir and Mohammed Dasthakir, as the team's captain, is not part of the lost or boost squad, while Nazir, who was recently replaced by Dasthakir,Nazir had retired from the format following the WLP victory in 2009. Mohammed Razmar, the squad's vice-captain, was overlooked after he was dropped for the final game of the Matale series.

Mohammed Razeen has led the DZCC team in the past, in all formats include Tournements. He was first appointed as the captain in December 2009, after DZCC's disastrous Srilankan tour campaign under Mohammed Nazir. He had been at the helm for 5 games, before handing over the reins to Mohammed Dasthakir in early 2009. Razeen met with the most success as a short formet DZCC captain, tasting defeat only once in 5 matches, including a run to the Ajman series  in 2009. His batting and bowling averages are markedly higher in matches where he captained the side.

DZCC and their batting worries

The year 2009 have been a good time to be a supporter of DZCC cricket.Since 2009, DZCC have had a unforgettable time in short formet cricket, winning 31 out of 43 and losing nine. Much of the attention has been focussed on the batsmens.and while they've been quite poor during this period, the team hasn't done better in the field either.DZCC's batting average of 11.10 runs per wicket in January this year shows poor clearly.

Much of DZCC's recent woes have been due to their fourth-innings debacles when chasing fairly low targets.in December last year DZCC's average is a mere 37.5, which is a figure propped up by the few occasions when their top-order batsmen saved matches or chased smallish targets without losing too many wickets. Some of the other batsmen, though, have woeful stats: in 4 fourth innings between them, Mohammed Arafath and Mohammed Siraj have one and zero half-centuries, and a highest score of 51/23. Not surprisingly, they average slightly over 12 runs per innings.

overall those poor cricket bring third lost on raw with Matale boys last friday in Jumeira. no more response from top order batsmans. even Arafath,Siraj,Haithar and Razmar.something to cheer that middle order ajust bit and put decent total in the board. an a 10 overs battle was scheudled after won the toss DZCC choose to bat first.a situation 23/4 after 5 overs, hillal and Faris share 53 runs partnership. with hillal's 37 (14) put DZCC finelly 92/7 end of there innings.

'I don't want to be selfish about staying on'

Have you enjoyed your role as vice-captain?
I took the job because at the time there wasn't anybody to do it. Nobody was certain of a place, so I agreed to take it. If somebody is there to take over the vice-captaincy, I am glad to hand it over to him. I just want to be a player, support the team and win. Even before in the Future, if there is someone better than me, I don't mind giving my place to him. I enjoy cricket as a player. Vice-captaincy is not something that I have given much thought to.

Your thoughts on Dasthakir as captain?
Unreasonable criticism has been made of his captaincy. Fair criticism is accepted. When Nazeer captained against JBS and RSS we lost and he was not scoring runs, the Board put too much pressure on him. He was a wonderful captain for the few months he led the club. At the end of the day what happened? He said thank you and quit the captaincy. Luckily we had Dasthakir. Now the same criticism has started against him, saying his decisions are not good. That's very unfair. As soon as he took over, he led a young side to the final of the Matale Tour, won the Ajman series in Sharja, the Tranguler series final, won the series against RSS and Shiba Riders, and then we lost to Matale boys.

It is too early for anyone to start criticising his captaincy. He is a capable person but is now being put under pressure. Once you put a lot of pressure on someone, however strong he may be, he will start thinking, "Why should I take all this criticism? I can be in the team as a player." If Dastha goes, who is going to captain? At the end of the day, players need to perform. The captain alone can't win a match.

Is UAE cricket going forwards or backwards?
UAE cricket has changed a lot because of the Flat tracks. Our bowlers have not adjusted to it properly. They have to work out how to contain, especially in those tracks. Because the wickets are so good in Dubai, the bowlers suffered more than in any other part of the UAE. Teams keep the batsmans till the end to maximise it and sometimes it backfires.

How is the fielding standards in the last few month?
We had a good fielding unit. Now if you take the team, it is the other way around. Siraj and Razmar are safe fielders but not brilliant. But they are very good batsmen and you can't keep them out because of the fielding. Likewise, a few bowlers are not natural athletes. That's what's happened to our fielding. They train, but speed is something you cannot create. You have to be born with it. We want to be a brilliant fielding side in future. If someone is saying we will be, they are not being honest to themselves. Today you cannot find a brilliant fielder who is a brilliant batsman or bowler. It will take generations to find one.

How do you want to be remembered?
I don't want to be selfish. If they think I can still deliver, I will play. As a person, if I have to say something, whether it is right or wrong, I will say it to the face. I don't say things behind people's backs. Ninety percent of people like me for that. If I realise I was wrong, I will say sorry. I don't have any enemies. I want to be remembered as a good person who played very hard and brought a lot of success to the club. I have achieved more than most other cricketers in DZCC.

'Now I know my role a bit better' - Arafath

Mohammed Dasthakir has praised the growing maturity of Mohammed Arafath after his match-winning fifty secured DZCC a 2-0 White wash against Shiba Riders. Arafath varied the pace of his innings cleverly and finished with 51 off 23 balls after accelerating with two consecutive sixes off Mohammed Zaneer to set up the total. "He does see the game really well," Dastha said. "Even the way the partnership between him and Mohammed Haithar developed, holding back the way they did and knowing the right time to put the foot down, really stood out."

DZCC were in a tricky situation at 3 for 29 when Arafath arrived to meet haithar and the pair put on recover the position. It was an important display for Arafath as his previous best performances had come in Ajman and WLP, at times when many supporters were sleeping or more concerned about cricket. This innings was shown in prime time and spectators saw brutal power mixed with some subtler touches."I thought about that coming into this series so it's pleasing to be able to show the people and team-mates that I can do it in DZCC," he said. "I'm happy we won and I contributed well to the team. It was a good feeling and I enjoyed it."

"Now I know my role a bit better," he said. "I had it set in my mind that I was going to be nice and positive through this series because in the past in DZCC I probably wasn't as positive as I would have liked to have been. There were a couple of things I wanted to do this series and probably in Nad-al-shiba, with the situation of the game, I had to play like that anyway." Dasthakir was pleased with his team's quick transition from the Cricket arena and his side will build well on the performance in the second game in Nad-al-shiba. "It was a very good win," he said. "It was made to look reasonably comfortable because of the couple of partnerships through the middle and how well Arafath played."

DZCC seal easy White Wash

DZCC followed their strong batting performance by keeping the pressure on Shiba Riders as the hosts moved to 3 for 29 after 3 overs. Needing 89 for victory, DZCC had score at 7.28 runs an over during the rest of the innings but they had lost some key men. Both openers departed by the Second over to leave Haithar and Dasthakir trying to consolidate with a 27-run partnership, which ended when Haithar drove at Ikram's and was taken behind point. Dastha, who exited with his side at 4 for 64, struggled for fluency and was forced to battle for his 27 off 16 balls.finely DZCC won by 6  Wickets the first 12 overs game.

in 10 overs second game DZCC push bat first by SRCC.Arafath was in charge of the push for victory and was 36 at the half-way stage, having placed some sweet drives and countered the threat of Zaneer. Haithar,Nazreen also had a key role and was beaten on 20&18. Arafath made 51 in 23 balls.Mohammad Hilal was slippery in his opening spell and Shifan was so behind in a defensive push on 5 that the ball hit the end of his handle and flew to Ayyub at mid-on. The following ball struck Naleer on the hip and Hilal went on to allow only 14/3 from his first Three overs. SRCC suffered another blow when Azmy drove Mohammad Rosan to mid-off to reduce them to  4 for 37.

Soon RSCC lost there 6 wickets for just 61, this win
brings DZCC first white wash of the year. in the first
match batsmans and second game Bowlers make here own game and reach maximum today in nad-al-shiba.
