Fayaz hopes for Winter comeback

Mohammed Fayaz the DZCC valuble all-rounder and middle order hitter, has not given up on fighting into Zahirians's Winter squad this year, despite losing his contract during the off-season due to some bad injury's.Fayaz, who played in the tri-series in WLP last four months ago, "I was looking forward to the Nad-al-shiba tour and am disappointed to be unavailable for 16 weeks," Fayaz said. "I'm aiming to be ready for action by the start of the shiba series [in NAS in November]. Of course this decision will be made along with the Zahirians Cricket medical team."

"Every domestic player around the UAE has got an eye on the Winter seson," he told DZCB, before the Zahirians squad was named. "Going back NAS and hopefully being able to put up some good performances, hopefully I might be able to put my case forward for selection for that. We'll wait and see." One of the major challenges for Fayaz is to convince the selectors that he can lift his output at the elite level after struggling to grab his chances in 34 short format games in 16 weeks. That could be extra difficult in a dubai zahirians side full of allrounders - mohammed faris, mohammed haithar, mohammed hillal, ayyub padladka and mohammed shadeek were all part of the recent squad named. "There's a lot of multi-skilled cricketers in the side at the moment," Fayaz said. "That can only be a good thing for the DZCC team going forward into a Winter come october to March. The guys that are there at the moment are ahead of me, so I've just got to try and perform well at all level and push my case that way and force my way back into the side."

"Fayaz has been included in the squad on the back of a solid NAS tour and multiple successful seasons," the personal advisor Mohammed anas said. "He is an exciting all-rounder and we are sure he will make the most of this opportunity."
